Find Work Done?

In the 1950's an experimental train that had a mass of 2.50x10^4 kg was powered across a level track by a jet engine that produced a thrust of 5.00x10^5 N for a distance of 509 m.

a) Find Work Done on Train

b) Find the change in kinetic energy

c) Find the final kinetic energy fo the train if it started at rest

d)Find the final speed of the train if there were no friction

Find Work Done?
work = force(n) x distance(m)

so 5.00x10x10x10x10x10x509
Reply:a) Work = force x distance = 5.0 x 10^5 x 509 = 2.54 x 10^8

b) no change in velocity, therefore KE = 0

c) KE = 31 J

d) v = 15 m/s
