How do you find couseling for alcoholism?

I've recenetly got out of rehab for alcohlism and want to find a counselar to help me deal with my life. I've tried AA and really don't like any of the meetings in my area. I know I don't want to go back to the way I was, but right now thats the only thing that makes sense to me. This is why I am tring to find help but just don't know where to find it. I don't know how to find a coulselar in my area. What do you look under and what kind of questions do you ask to help you find someone that knows how to deal with recovery.

Reply:Do you drive?

Could you go to out of town meetings?

I am not sure what area your in ( Toronto has Camh Center for addictions and mental health.

Barrie, Orillia... Has SOS Simcoe Outreach Services.

If you can afford it there are lots of psychotherapists that deal with addiction issues. Stay away from old friends, places and things and take it one day at a time.

Keep it up.

I know how hard it is

Reply:I would go to the Health Department and ask Mental Health. Doesn't mean your crazy but they can provide you with alot of information and they should have counselors.
Reply:Check out the phone book in your area. Good luck to you.
Reply:Having a counselor is great...

Call a local church they have them..just call around.

Note: Remember the only one that can cause you to go back the way you was is "you"

stay strong.
