Do you find what you are looking for, no matter what that is? Or do you find truth, no matter what that is?

This is in response to an answer I just received on another question:

"Revelation of God comes to those who love and seek his truth."

I don't believe this statement.

I always seek truth. I even had a predisposition to believing Christianity since I grew up that way and remained so into adulthood. In continuing to seek truth, I question, investigate, reflect, and come to formulate an opinion.

In that process, I've found the bible to be a collection of made up stories and that religion is foolish.

To the contrary, I believe that those who seek something find it...so if you look for god hard enough, you'll find it somewhere. If you are objective and seek nothing...you find that too I suppose.

However, seeking nothing opens you to real "truth" whereas seeking something only points you more and more to that goal you are after.

Do you find what you are looking for, no matter what that is? Or do you find truth, no matter what that is?
i think that to stop seeking is to stagnate...you seek, you grow, you learn.

i have never lost my love of learning new things, i will never stop seeking truths.

Reply:I would agree with that statement... mostly.

I can look all day for the Rapture, but I'm not going to find it. Other than that, though, people can and do find just about anything, regardless of whether or not it is true.

Many so-called "revelations" are simply products of the mind.

Now, if you'll please excuse me... I have to go find Jessica Biel.
Reply:I guess I always find my truth because until something rings true with me, I keep looking!
Reply:Yes and no. The fact is we all seek truth to a degree but fall short of absolute truth on one lvl or the other. Another thing you should factor is what you consider truth? To some truth is a matter of what team or what side they are on. One thing is certain truth will always prevail and what is not truth will fall away and die... It's futile to argue about what is truth. Truth needs no defense. And last but not least sometimes the truth hurts.

Sometimes it's wise to look at the angle of neo christianity. You can see were they are going if you see were they are coming from. The Judeo/ Christian Bible hails itself as absolute truth yet you'll find neo christian bible thumpers knowing little about it.

My advice to anyone is seek truth on your path and don't be drawn away by vampires and leeches. The fact is we as humans are different individuals in many ways. The realization of this is the only way to truly progress as far as our humanity goes. It takes all kinds!
Reply:Wow! You just fulfilled prophecy.

1Ti 4:1 ¶ Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Reply:I find a little of everything. The trick is figuring out what is what.
Reply:Yes, seeking nothing will open you to the real truth, unfortunately this is almost impossible to do. You will find what you look for and you will build your own reality based on what you believe you will find.
Reply:no ,all of it is no
Reply:I go looking for what I want to find, but I don't wear blinders that prevent me from finding truth if it is different from what I wanted.
Reply:I think if you look hard and long enough, you will find *your* truth.
Reply:It sounds like you are using reason and common sense, which in the end, leads to truth.

I agree that a person will find what they are looking for--that is human nature.

In the book of Revelation, The mention of the “seven lamps of fire burning” expresses the accessibility to knowledge and the understanding of the mysteries (truths) of God available to all humankind equally. ... However, having knowledge does not necessarily mean one has an understanding of truth. Real truth “burns” with reality, and leaves no confusion; whereas most knowledge is dependent on the understanding of the recipient and the teacher presenting the knowledge.

Mortal knowledge is not truth, but a perception developed from the experience of the person. As the individual gains more experience, the knowledge changes. It was an accepted knowledge that the world was flat, until through experience, the truth was finally known.

The burning that will take place when a prophet refers to the fires of hell and damnation, is the consternation and embarrassment that one will feel when the truth is revealed, and destroys all the knowledge once embraced as truth.

Those who have exalted themselves above others will suffer the most (weeping, wailing, and gnashing their teeth). This is because not only will they be embarrassed by their own foolishness, but those who they had once convinced that they were “knowledgeable,” will see them for the fools they really are. “And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. (See Matthew 23:12.)

This is taken from the book that explains ALL of Revelation in plainness. Even though it is in the Bible, it does NOT mean what most (if not ALL) people think it means. It is the most most anti-religous, anti-myth, and logical book on this subject. It tells the truth about religion, politics, and world affairs. It is free at the site below:
